Fun fun fun! Who would have thought you could have so much fun in a strip mall type Mexican joint?! The staff was great, food was great, margaritas were great. We will make this a regular spot when in Saint George. My classic margarita was perfectly sour. Making a good cocktail in Utah is not easy todo if you are familiar with the strange regulated pour system. The salsa's, all in house made, were yummy! I shared a HUGE taco salad with my sister and we both left full and satisfied.

Best Mexican food in St George! Friendly and fast service. Don't miss this place if your looking for a great meal.

Excellente! Muy bueno! Had Chile Verde stuffed sopepilla. Felt like I was back in southern Colorado. Would have liked a bit more kick in the "hot" green sauce, but it had good flavor. My wife had a chimichonga. Also excellent. The salsa was especially notable. I had hot and it is firey! If you don't deal with very hot food, watch out. Also tried my wife's medium. Very nice and only moderate heat. All in all, a really great dinner.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Peppers. The fish tacos were delicious, and the service was great. Our server was so friendly. I recommend checking this restaurant out.

Chose this place because of the positive reviews and proximity to your hotel. We were flying out of SGU at 6:30 am the next morning. Decor wax good and we were seated quickly. Menu had lots of options. Being from the DC area we know that St George is not a hot bed of gastronomy but our palates like it and we had to roll ourselves out if there. Good portion sizes, but no other flavors of frozen margaritas except the original lime. We'd go again next time we are in town!

This is our second visit to Peppers. The second time around we got the chicken chimi and the 2 item combo plate. Both were pretty good. The chimi was a little greasy, but the chicken had really good flavor. We got the Enchilada with the red sauce this time, but must say that their green sauce is better. The kids chicken nuggets are actually beer battered, so they weren't a big hit with our 6 and 8 year old kids, but their fries are tasty. The chips are thicker and could use some more salt, but their salsa is pretty good. The service by the host was awesome! He kept our drinks refilled, brought more silverware when our daughter dropped her fork and offered to help her get her shoe when she also dropped that off her foot. Our second time wasn't as good as our first visit as far as food goes, but they were the only thing open on New Years day and we weren't really in the mood for mexican food so that might have skewed our opinion. I would most definitely give it a third try though!

Went with a group of 14 and had great service for a large group. The portions were sizeable and they kept the chips and salsa coming the whole time. Big sides and delicious entrees. Will come back to eat here.

Peppers was one of the first places we tried when my family and I moved to St. George. I asked around and a couple of our neighbors told us to try out Peppers. So we went and I have to admit it was ok. I wasn't a huge fan of the salsa, which is something I always go to when I review Mexican places. My dinner was a solid B, nothing to speculator but not terrible. The service was kind of slow but I think the waitress was new so thats ok. Not the best mexican food in town not the worst a solid B all around.

Came here for a quick bite on the way to Colorado and the fajitas were amazing! We were 3 people and were all mildly hungry so we just got the big order of fajitas that comes with 3 orders of meat. We got 2 steaks and 1 chicken. They were all delicious and we finished it all. The steak was mouth watering and I love that they put pineapples in with the grilled veggies for the fajitas. The only thing lacking was more attentive customer service. Our waiter was nice, but it was extremely hard to get his attention even when the place was nearly empty, and one of us had to eventually get up and walk up to him across the room to ask for something. Still, if I lived in Utah I'd definitely go back for more.

Loved all the choices on the menu. Everything we had was good. Plenty for the kids also. We would definitely come back

This place is excellent. Great prices, choice of hot med mild salsa. Warm chips. I had the street tacos and they had the perfect amount of spice. And a great selection of alcoholic beverages. Low key atmosphere. Loved it!

Service is great. The food was good. We had the Besos Chimi (with new technology) and they were pretty good. The chips and salsa were tasty and just kept coming. They offer you mild, medium and hot salsa with chips when you first sit down.

We were headed home after a weekend of camping in Sand Hollow and we wanted some grub. I searched my trusty Yelp app and it led us here. We had 6 in our party and we were quickly seated in a large booth. We practically had the place to ourselves on Sunday afternoon. The beso chimichanga came recommended and three were ordered; all with carnitas. The red sauce was preferred over the green and it was best when ordered on the side. I went for something different by selecting the two way combo: chile relleno and pork tamale with hot red sauce. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I haven't been thrilled by eats in St George, but Peppers impressed me. Heck, it's better than most of the Mexican joints in Vegas - I don't get why our offerings are so poor, but that's a story for another day. Peppers, we'll be back!

Two friends and I stopped here for dinner and a couple margaritas before we hit a concert in St. George that evening. Robert and his team welcomed us right in and took our orders. I had the chile relleno and it was delicious! Everyone else agreed that the food was good. The reason for the 3-star rating is the fact that we felt rushed and that our waiter was pushy to give us our checks and flip our table, when in reality we would've liked to order another round of margaritas before the show. Also, they charged my friend an additional $1 for her margarita to be blended. Surely it is not that much effort for them.

Saturday night after an all-day softball tournament. Our girls were tired, and hungry. And the players were as well. It's in a little strip mall, but do NOT let that fool you!! This place is legit. I had the carne asada fajitas and my only complaint is that it was gone all too soon. The beer was good the server was amazing, and when back in St. George, I WILL be eating here again.

    (5)
  • Athena C.

Good mild and hot salsa, especially with the warm chips. Enchilada and tostada were not bad, but not great either. The chile relleno had too much breading on it. Not terrible Mexican, however, it wasn't the most authentic I've had.

    (3)
  • Brooke C.

Good Mexican joint. Several vegetarian options too! Too bad the chips and salsa weren't better :/

  • Rog D.

Five star service, five star food, and five star ritas. If you find yourself in St George and want killer Mexican food, go straight to Peppers Cantina. The chicken tacos were perfectly cooked and the wife's veggie quesadilla had three kinds of peppers. Guess that's where the name comes from.

    (5)
  • Steven R.

The Beso Chimichangas are amazing. If you want a real treat ask for the chicken with the red sauce (can't remember what it is called.) It is $1 more but wowie! This is the real deal! I didn't think Saint George had real mexican food! Also, the best fajitas I have ever had were here with that same chicken! Go already! ;)

  • Paul M.

I almost walked. I have no idea how long the party of two ahead of me waited, but it was a full ten minutes to seat us with plenty of empty tables. Wait staff ignores us and the host couldn't have been more inefficient. Spicy salsa was good. The pork carnita quesadillas were greasy but with great flavor. Not a return destination

  • Gina P.

Great food! we found this little place in a strip mall and the food was excellent! I had the shrimp enchilada and my husband had the chili verde and both were outstanding. Prices good and service was great! Mike our waiter, did a great job of upselling and checking on us.

    (5)
  • Jacob C.

Best Mexican food in St. George. The service was fantastic, and the food was really good -- each of the plates ordered by our group of six was great and fresh.

    (4)
  • Peter H.

Wow. Surprisingly good. Order the "besos." And when they ask you if you want mild, medium, or spicy, don't make any assumptions about Utahans tolerance for chile - spicy is spicy.

    (5)
  • Nicholas C.

Very happy and energetic staff, Marlee was our waitress and she was on point. She was quick and accurate with our orders. The owner even came out and talked to us, made sure we were happy. Plus the burritos were delicious :o) Good job guys, keep up the good work!

  • Ryan M.

Really liked this place! It was a nice, clean family restaurant. There wasn't much of a Mexican theme ambience however the menu had all your Mexican favorites at really great prices. Bottomless chips and salsa included. My fiancé and I split the chicken flautas plate for $11 and it was plenty of food! Our plate consisted of beans and rice and one huge flauta, cut in three, that was unexpected but delicious!

"I stopped here because of the good reviews in Yelp and was not disappointed! The food was very good! I would go out of my way to eat there! Tom Smothers"

  • Jodi Z.

Great food!! Best chips and salsa. Service not good. Waiter nice but 3 guys, 2 constantly on their cell phone, and only 4 tables with people. Have to keep asking over and over for things.

  • Mike S.

Great experience here last night. Recommend the chicken nachos and Beso Chimis. You get 2, and can order different meats for each, but we liked the carnitas pork best, so just order one with red sauce and the other with green. Our waiter Cory was very helpful. The second round of 1800 margaritas for the designated passengers wasn't as good as the first, but Cory insisted on adjusting them until they were! Oh, and be sure to have Zachary take your picture.

    (5)
  • Jared D.

Great spot. Try the Beso Chimmy with grilled chicken and green sauce. It's the best ever!!! We also tried the chicken enchiladas with red sauce. It was great but the red sauce has a strong taste. Just something to be aware of. Chips and salsa are free as long as you order an entree although the menu makes it seem like you have to buy them. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

Here's one time Yelp let me down! Maybe I am spoiled living in Southern California but there wasn't much effort to deliver a good meal here. The salsa was so odd, it just wasn't worth eating. My Taco Salad came in a huge, stale, fried tortilla with seriously, the equivalent of a tablespoon each of tomatoes and guacamole, some really salty refried beans at the bottom and a dash of just ok carnitas. All that with a minor amount of shredded lettuce, which filled the big bowl to 1/3 full. Silly looking dish with nothing good tasting in it. Hubby rated his burrito as just edible but passed on the salty beans also. The service was fine until the bill. We waited 20 minutes and finally hunted the server down. When you didn't love your meal, I hate waiting for the bill!

  • Brian D.

I eat at Mexican restaurants all over the bay area and I must say the steak and chicken fajitas here are the best I've had. It is a little hard to find, kind of tucked away from the main street, but it is well worth it. Highly recommended.

  • J Y.

Fantastic spicy veggie chimichangas. That is what I come here for.

    (4)
  • Tamara M.

Went there last night and was pretty excited to get a table right away on spring break but then was not so happy to wait 20 minutes for chips and salsa after asking twice. Then waited another 15 minutes for the waiter to take our order and then another 45 minutes before the food came. The place was completely empty once our food arrived. It was weird. Then we had to walk our own check up to pay. I think they where closing out and had forgotten about us. Should have just waited at Red Lobster the hour. I understand it was spring break but the entire place was served before us. The food was OK but by the time it came I was so upset I'm not sure what it tasted like. My appetite was gone.

Stopped by here on on west coast trip from Minnesota To California and back. Found it on yelp and decided to try. The food was wonderful. Our server was new but was on point despite that. All the staff was friendly as can be. My shrimp fajitas came out to me on a plate steaming like crazy. The Beso Chimichangas were delcious. A fellow yelper recommended them so I went for it. Wasn't what I expected but it more and more delicious with ever bite. Good stop in St. George after a day at Zion or on the way to Vegas or LA.

  • Nathan B.

Had a Beso Chimichanga with carnitas and it was unlike any other I have tasted. The wife had an enchilada and a tostada which she thought were average. The food is good here and you can tell ownership makes what people like but isn't afraid to try some new things.

  • Hoyt H.

We chose this place on our first night in St. George since it was just across the freeway from our hotel. Be warned, if you ask for spicy salsa, you will get SPICY salsa! Not that I'm complaining ;) I had a tasty chicken chimi with both green and red sauces, and have to say that I prefer the red. It had a nice deep flavor. I wasn't amazingly impressed with the margarita, which was a bit weak. Then again, every mixed drink I had in Utah was weak (I needed 2-3 Utah drinks to equal the punch of a drink elsewhere). Service was quick and friendly.

Love this place. Love the food. Rich, the owner is a stud. The food is unique as well. The open faced enchilada with a fried egg on top is one of my favorites, but last time I was there I asked Rich for something new. What he prepared for me (and he told me it was going to be on the new menu coming soon) was INCREDIBLE. Anyway, as you can tell I'm a fan.

Just passing through on way back to california. Excellent Mexican food! Some the best I've ever had. I have to eat gluten free so I tend to eat a lot of Mexican food since they use corn tortillas in their dishes and this is easily in the top 5% of mexican restaurants that I've been to. Excellent chips and salsa to start with. Shredded beef tacos are the best i've ever had...

We were very glad that we found Peppers Cantina! It's not on the main track -- tucked in a strip mall behind Wendy's on the south end of St. George. We arrived late on a Sunday night and were welcomed by the owner. I wasn't hugely hungry so had the house salad with carne asada -- it was very delicious! Loved the pineapple, guacamole and sour cream! My husband had the flautas plate and it was so much food! He ordered the beef with red sauce and it was delicious. Would definitely make a point of going there again.

Pepper's is worth driving from Colorado for. Richard, the new owner, is one of the nicest human beings we have ever met. He manages the kitchen as well as an owner should, and you can tell, because the food is outstanding. Each and every thing we ordered was amazingly delicious. Best tamales and chili rellenos we have ever had, bar none. You will not be disappointed in this restaurant.

  • Lindsey C.

Yum yum yum! Had awesome service and delicious food! We got the shredded chicken nachos to start which were tasted fresh (guacamole on top along with diced tomatoes) and the chicken was really moist. we got to choose the spice level of the salsa; we chose medium and it was just right. It had a kick but didnt burn off our tastebuds. We each had a house margarita - they we're super good. For dinner we had veggie quesadillas, enchilada, and 2 tacos. The latter 2 came as a combo plate, plus it came with rice and beans. My quesadillas came with rice and beans too. I'm getting hungry again just thinking about it all. I highly recommend this place if you're in or passing through Saint George!

We were traveling all day and made it into St George at 10:30 pm and we were hungry. I found Peppers Cantina on Yelp and I called them to make sure that they were still open. The owner said "Of course! Until past midnight, we'd be happy to feed you!". We went over and the owner told us that we were going to have the best Mexican Food in the world! Talk about confidence! I told him I would let him know if it wasn't. Ya know what? It was really delicious! I am so glad that it was too, because I was tired and cranky after a day of driving from Sedona, AZ, to the Grand Canyon, to St George, UT! I ordered the pork tamale ( made fresh daily) which came with rice & beans . The tamale was wonderful and the rice & beans were homey & delicious. What a lucky find! You must try this place! I'm glad I found it!

We really enjoyed the food at Peppers Cantina. We were seated fast and the service was excellent. Our table ordered a round of margaritas, which weren't too bad. The weird thing is they charge $1.00 to blend it! Totally not worth the extra buck, as I still had a pile of ice when I was finished with the drink. The guacamole appetizer was avocado with a bit of cilantro on top. We spiced it up with hot salsa, which made it really good. Both the hot and medium salsas had great flavor and the perfect amount of spice. The enchiladas were good, both the red and green. My only complaint is that chicken was a little over done, but it was all white meat (which I like). My husband had the Beso Chimichanga. He said the pork was the best. Overall, we enjoyed the food and atmosphere (after we asked to have the volume on the tv over our table muted). Our server was attentive, friendly and helped us make decisions about what to order. The prices were somewhat reasonable. It is not the best Mexican food I have had, but I would definitely send my friends there.

Service was great and personable. Loved the margaritas. I had a yummy taco salad and my husband had the beso chimichangas, which he said were outstanding. We are traveling and if we ever pass this way again, we will definitely be back.

After a 4 hour drive from SLC we were looking for a place to grab some food and watch some college football. We were wanting to watch the Auburn game which is hard to find. When we came to peppers the manager (Robert) and staff realized they did not have the sports package with all the games. Robert immediately got on the phone and the game was on within minutes! Not only was the service fantastic but the food was fabulous too! Great tortillas. If we are ever back in st. George we will be back here.

Just had lunch at Peppers Cantina. We were taken promptly to our seats. They brought us a broken high chair that had no safety straps. It had to be replaced by my wife who went to find a new one. Our waiter walked around in street clothes, no uniform or attempt at being professional. We ordered chips and salsa to start. They were good. The chips were warm and crisp and the salsa was good too. It was the best part of the meal. My wife had the Shredded beef taquitos. the beef in them wasn't shredded very well. It tasted old. It was tough and unappetizing. The taquitos were crisp, but had a bad flavor. Perhaps the fry oil is too old. The rice and beans were decent. I had the Carne Asada fajitas. Presented before me was a huge platter of poorly prepared bell peppers, chopped at random width and unevenly cooked. There were also onions and chunks of diced steak. It was all tossed in some kind of salsa. Wrong wrong wrong. Then they brought me three tortillas on a random plate. No container to keep them warm. While we stewed in our discontent we got to listen to our waiter stand at the bar and talk about his plans for the summer. We ate some of the rice and beans and picked the rest. The waiter came by on occasion asking "you ready for a refill bro". Next time ask if the food palatable. Would I go back? Yes, if I want chips and salsa and beer, and that's it.

Excellent food and service with great margaritas! Not the usual in St. George. Peppers is now our new favorite for Mexican food.

Two Southern Californians driving home from a vacation in Colorado were seeking some good Mexican food on 12/26/11 in Utah. After reading reviews on Yelp we decided to try Peppers Cantina and were happy with our choice. Our waiter was pleasant and asked us if we wanted our salsa mild, medium or hot. That was a good indication this wasn't going to be bland. We asked for medium and it was just how we like it with a little heat and a delicious flavor. My chili relleno burrito dinner was huge! Way too much food for one person. It came with rice & beans that could either go in the burrito or be on the side. I ordered it on the side. The sauce on the burrito could be ordered mild, medium or hot (like the salsa). I ordered the green sauce medium and it was delicious. If we had not been on a road trip, I would have had left overs for lunch and dinner the next day. My husband ordered a 2 item combo and we both had diet sodas to drink and I think our bill was around $26. I wish I had taken pictures of our plates. I can't over emphasize the amount of food you get for your money here. Delicious.

Amazing fresh fish tacos and carne asada - fantastic owners, friendly staff. Can't get better then Peppers! We love this place and ate here every night - can't get enough of the crazy good food. Highly recommend Peppers Cantina to anyone looking for great food and a friendly atmosphere in St George UT.

Stopped here for the night on the way to Salt Lake City, heard from the bartender at the bowling alley what great food they have and that they had a full bar so we decided to give it a shot. We are so so glad we did! Margi was on point, "Beso" chimis were to die for (I got the carnitas and shredded chicken with medium green sauce), 1 friend got the beef taquito meal and they looked awesome, the other friend got the pollo asada fajitas...amazing!! The staff was super friendly and helpful! Overall great food and great service!! Try it!!

After asking hotel concierge what was good around Saint George, we decided to go to this place, as it was a 5 minute walk. The food is alright, but obviously nothing compared to Mexican food from Santa Ana, CA or LA. We were served some complimentary chips and salsa, and the salsa was pretty good. Nice and spicy, just how I like it. My boyfriend and I ordered enchiladas along with the apricot beer. Enchiladas were decent, but I felt like there was a pound of cheese melted on top. Beer was very interesting, as I had never tried a beer like that before. But being the light weight that I am, I barely finished 1/3 of the glass. Our server was very friendly and helpful. He pointed out his favorite dishes as recommendations.

  • D. W.

...and we're right back face down in the dumps again. That's probably not fair. Beer was cold and service was good, though listening to the waiter, he clearly had his lines memorized and was doing the greetings by rote. Good on him. It works, for the most part. Given how slow it was, all the staff was a bit over-enthusiastic, but managed to tame it down once they picked up on that. Again, good on them for the instincts. The bad side is that I don't come to a restaurant for either chilled beverages or a clinic on effective wait staff technique. While I appreciate all that other stuff, I mostly come for the food and here, it was, politely, woefully inadequate. Truth be told, I kind of expected this. St. George, while a hotbed in several literal respects, is not really known for its fine cuisine and truth be told, chains abound in the city, almost all of them lesser-ran ones at that. Sauces/salsas were rather bland and not generally good tasting. The "hottest" one had minimal heat. The fish tacos were a travesty. While I like the novelty of the sauce and the radishes on them, execution was awful. Shred them damn radishes, fools! Chunks? On a taco? Nuh uh, my dudes. Miss me with that. Fish also had about zero flavor and I spent a lot of time trying to fight the sour cream and refrieds to get some kind, any kind, of flavor on that damn thing. Speaking of those sides, rice was not so good, either, but I skip that a lot of the time anyway, so no big there. I think whoever came up with those fish tacos needs to take they ass on over to Rubio's to see how it's done proper... I think the problem here may ultimately be approach. I get it; it's white people "Mexican" food and seeing a sign that says "MAN CAVE" on the wall next to bunch of Green Bay Packers crap is not really going to be anyone's idea of authentic Mexican...unless they also happen to be an idiot. Cater to the area, etc. etc., but even still, food has to be tasty. Here it wasn't, which, given their proximity to a really nice hotel (and not so far from a second), is kind of dumb, as they probably get a lot of traffic from either or both. I love cantinas, which this is only in a passing sense of the word and this place just needs to overall do much better, area or not.

  • Evelyn H.

This place has a nice neighborhood vibe. Several people were greeted at the door as regulars and that's always a good sign. The food was good, solid cantina fare. The rice and beans stood out as some of the best. I had the sopapilla, basically a tostada but instead of a fried tortilla it used this New Mexican style fried pastry. Kind of like Native American fry bread. Smothered in green sauce, deelish! I got it "garbage style" which meant it came stuffed with cabbage, onion, radish, and cilantro. Highly recommend. My husband had the Pollo Chile Verde and loved it. The kids taco and quesadilla were also a hit. Last but not least, the house margarita...yum! It was made with agave and freshly squeezed lemon and it tasted great! If you are looking for a casual place to eat a good Mexican dinner and maybe enjoy a drink (or two), check out Peppers.

  • Eunique D.

The food here was your typical, tasty tex mex style mexican food. Large portions, options on heat and lots to choose from on the menu. The staff was friendly and attentive and carried on a good conversation without being too invasive. I got a burrito and a beer and my dinner was under $10 and lasted me 2 meals... Probably the best deal I've had so far. I came in a little before close and they were still attentive and provided me with great food and service. Thanks guys, I'll stop in next time i'm back in town. cheers!

Best Mexican in St George! Must try enchiladas and guacamole. Great service too!

  • Ricardo A.

Horrible food, never ate something that tasted that bad before and the party I was with agreed on the quality we were given. The sauces on the salsa tasted watered down, the meat wasn't cooked enough and the service was even bad. I felt like the waiter felt awkward to take are orders which made us feel uncomfortable like it was his first day. Don't recommend this place at all.

  • Laurel S.

Biggest positive - they were open on a Sunday night. Thank you! Salsa tasted fresh and was really good/ flavorful, portions were generous, restaurant was clean and well kept, and the servers were all really nice. I ordered the veggie burrito, kids had quesadilla and chicken strips, and husband had chicken burrito. Food was pretty good, not great, but it definitely hit the spot after a long day driving. Beans need some improvement but I was happy that the food was cheesy without being overly so. The biggest downfall was service (yet even that was nothing to complain about). The kids working were really nice and helpful, but they seemed pretty scattered and a little slow to get the food out and things we asked for. They did make up for it with lots of apologies and a discount though, so overall it was a great dinner for us being on the road! @growingfourlife

Gross We came here on a fairly slow Saturday night and waited a good 8 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. We were about to get up and leave when someone finally came to serve us. I ordered the Basa chimichangas, they came out soggy and a good squeeze with the fork revealed a pool of oil. I asked the waiter about it and he said that's just how the meat is. We won't be back on our next trips.

Tired after a long drive, Yelped and found this place nearby and after we got seated realized we had been here before. It was not great that time and no better this one. Margaritas were reasonable and good and the chips and salsa were accommodating because we were offered three different heats. We started with the mild which my wife liked but I found flavorless and bland but they were quick to bring me a medium which was very good.

Yummy food & the best service we've had in a long time! The house margarita was delicious & the beer cold! We would definitely come again. Don't leave before you try the homemade sopapillas dessert. Seriously delicious!

We're really picky when it comes to Mexican food but this place is wonderful! They have amazing fajitas, which is the only thing we really order. We ordered pollo fajitas and everything was fresh. There was tons of freshly grilled peppers and onions and topped with cilantro and moist chicken. We were very impressed with the quality all around. Also, the grilled jalapenos are a nice add-on. Side note: we called their new location couldn't get through to place a to-go order. When we called the other location to order food, the manager graciously hooked us up and took care of us and made up for our inconvenience. We were really impressed with the can-do attitude of the staff and how they bent over backwards to take care of us. You don't see that often these days, especially in food joints. Kudos to Pepper's Cantina for taking care of customers. We'll be back multiple times!

Mediocre at best is being polite when describing this Mexican "craptina". The food is a bland uninteresting attempt at authentic cuisine. The plus side is the staff is very polite and enthusiastic! No joke, they were great. The negative side is that the manager is a complete buffoon. The refried beens I ate have more character than this guy. I was traveling through and left my debit card at the table. I contacted the staff the next morning and they assured me that they had my card and would keep it for me until I came through on my return trip. When I came in to retrieve my card the manager made a scene and asked me to leave and"move on" . Then after an embarrassing exchange he finally called his employee and found out my card was in his office. Needless to say I have no plans of stopping here again.

While I'm not much of a chimichanga fan, I decided to follow other Yelp recommendations and got the Beso Chimichangas. I had them stuffed with carne asada and I wasn't disappointed! The chips and medium salsa were quite flavorful, the mild salsa didn't do it for me. Beans and rice were really good, as well as the fried ice cream. My child was happy with the kid's meal options. The customer service was excellent. The waiter was quick to serve us and came around often to refill our drinks and bring out more chips as we were close to finishing the first basket. Excellent food + excellent service = excellent dining experience!

Don't be deterred by the strip mall location - the food is delicious! Best beef flautas ever. A sincere commitment to excellence showed through in both the service and the food.

Went with my coworker to Peppers for dinner and I started off with the apricot hefeweizen and it was awesome! Then the bean dip with chips and salsa, then the two beef crunchy tacos combo. It was all good, food came out quick and I will probably go again if I don't get the same waiter. The waiter was rude, gave us our check 1/2 way through our meal. I wanted to get the deep fried ice cream and my co worker wanted to get the sopapilla but we didn't the waiter to cancel our bill and create a new on. We thought they were closing but it was only 7:00. So my 3 stars are only for the food and beer.

Hoped for a decent Mexican meal passing through town. What a surprise! Homemade tortillas and salsa- hot, medium or mild. Great favors, good menu options, casual dining. We will plan to stop any time we travel through!

Peppers Cantina is a pretty stellar new Mexican restaurant that revives the typically platters. The service is also amazingly fast which makes it great for a quick bite. Starting with their complimentary salsa (and any sauces for their entrees), you can choose the level of heat -hot, medium, and mild. I loved this because some house salsas are really mediocre and could kick it up a notch. For my entree, I got the Beso Chimichanga. Basically it's two half chimis where you choose two of meat selections, then it's fried. The result is more like a scone than a crisp chimichanga which was a satisfying surprise. Both the pork and chicken were not dry and well seasoned!

Wanted it to be good but it wasn't. If you're used to eating above average Mexican food.... This place will disappoint.

Fabulous salsa! I enjoyed the flavor, heat (nice kick unlike the bland salsas elsewhere in Utah), and texture (not ketchup, not too chunky to fit on a chip, just right). The bean and cheese burrito was enjoyable but not unusually good, but I appreciated that you could still make out pinto bean shapes in the refried beans (most refried beans are mushy and shapeless). The jalapeño poppers were good crunchy (but not undercooked) with a nice melty cream cheese filling, but we would have preferred to have some seeds left inside for an added kick. Staff was friendly and attentive, the decor was festive, the booths and tables contributed to an open feel while providing privacy for the guests (done with tall booth dividers). And they serve booze on Sunday, beer and margaritas!! We will be back the next time we are in St. George.

I never go to St. George without a visit to Peppers! I love the service, "Juan" is the best waiter. He's a lot of fun and gives great service. Must tries are Pork Beso chimi's w Red Sauce, the flat enchiladas, street tacos and the bean dip. I love the chips and medium salsa as well. They have a full serve bar and outdoor seating. You gotta try it! Utah has great Mexican food!!!

Hmmm. Where do I start. We went here on a Sunday afternoon and the place was dead. There was one other small group in the restaurant as well as someone at the bar and it was like pulling teeth to get any amount of decent service. There were plenty of employees, sitting around, walking around, watching the TV and paying little attention to the few people that chose this place to eat over others in the area. The food was good but because of the service we received I don't think we'll be back. I would hate to think of how the service would be if there were another group or two in the place. I don't see this place surviving if the typical customer experiences what we did. 4 stars for food, 1 star for service.

Our second nite in St. George and yelpsters gave this place 4 stars but being from a major metropolitan city that has some great food, I thought the food was just average but being in St George it is probably rated by others higher. Portions were sizeable. Chips were warm and crunchy the way I like them but I've had better salsa as the one that was supposed to be hot was not hot in my book. If you go - be on the lookout for "The Referee" who helps bus and serve. He was "great!

This place is one of St. George's secrets. The owner recommended one of his favorite dishes, which was absolutely delicious. The owner was nice. The food was great. Good prices. It will become a regular stop for me whenever I travel through St. George.

We ate there last night on the patio. Dog friendly. Service was a little slow but we weren't in a hurry, the margaritas were excellent and so was the food, waiters were very apologetic and they kept the chips and salsa coming. We will definitely come back here. Only gave it 4 stars because of the slow service. They were slammed because of the NLCS game, under staffing is Management issue not staff. The staff was hopping! The staff was very good.

We were in search of a place to watch the Laker game. Thankfully the hotel suggested that we go to Peppers. We had a couple of beers, now how could we say no to Mexican food?? We ordered the Pepper's Nachos with Chicken and carne asada quesadilla. They were both awesome! The prices were fair too. Even though it was almost closing time the servers were really nice and put up with all our cheering and yelling. :)

It was good food. The shredded beef on my open faced enchilada was very good. They needed to add some cheese to the open enchilada, when I think of enchilada I think cheese and sauce! It came with typical refried beans and ok Mexican rice. I really don't like when they slap on refried beans to a Mexican dish just to fill up the plate, that screams cheap Mexican food to me. Overall I did enjoy my meal, it wasn't the greatest but will I go back most likely yes. I thought the service was great, very friendly and attentive!

Found this place on yelp and went with a group for dinner while staying in the area for vacation. It was definitely deserving of its 4-star rating. Our waiter was great and not only brought us free bean dip, but sent us home with chips and salsa on the house. The food was tasty and satisfying. Most of the table went with the beso chimichanga, which come two to an order and are stuffed with cheese and meat. I thought my dish was the best though - the carne asada was very flavorful and tender and came with a fresh corn tortilla on the side. They also serve pitchers of beer, with interesting choices on tap (we had a porter and a hef). Overall, excellent food for the price and great service to boot.

We had a great meal and a great time at Peppers Cantina. The beers were ice cold and the service was warm and inviting. Our waiter was super friendly and was always there to take care of anything we needed. The food was pretty damn good. I had the carne asada burrito with rice and beans on the outside (they give you the option of stuffing them into the burrito). The meat was tender and flavorful. I had them smother the burrito with red sauce and it was delicious. Lisa's chicken burrito was equally yummy. Everything on the menu, including the salsa, can be ordered mild, medium or hot. What a great idea! Why didn't I (or anyone else) think of that? Everyone at our table went with "hot" and it didn't disappoint. Fire in the hole!! My forehead was sweating and that's always a good indicator of the heat level. The only disappointing part of our meal was the guacamole. It was fresh and obviously house-made, but it lacked flavor. We had to mix in a bunch of salt, lime juice and salsa to give it some much needed tastiness. I probably wouldn't order it again, but everything else was great. If I lived in the area, I would be a Peppers regular for sure.

Super disappointed with this place. Been to another location that has amazing service & great food but this one failed in every aspect. We phone ordered and when we picked up & came home they had shorted us a meal. When we called to get a refund (since we live 20 mins away) they were extremely rude & accused us of lying & trying to just get $ from them. I went through 4 different people, ending up with no refund & a lashing from the general manager, saying he could care less if he lost my business because he has enough. Definitely won't be eating here again & will make sure none of my friends do either.

We come up to St. George every couple of months to see my daughter's doctors - there aren't any doctors in Vegas who are qualified enough to treat her. These trips are never trips for pleasure, but we always try to make the best of the situation. Every time we come up, we plan on coming here, but we Amway's end up somewhere else. We finally made it and I'm glad we did. I'd give the food 3.5. The food was good, but I've had better. The service on the other hand was 5 stars. The people were so nice. They were especially nice to my daughter. We'll be back again. If you want to learn about all my daughter has gone through, check out her blog at HugsforHailey.com .

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
